Barangay Cabintan is located in Ormoc City. Ormoc City is a city in the province of Leyte, Philippines. It is an independent component city, not subject to regulation from the provincial government of Leyte. However, it is part of the Fourth Congressional District of Leyte together with Albuera, Kananga, Merida, Isabel and Palompon. Ormoc is the economic, cultural, commercial, and transportation hub of Western Leyte. Cabintan is a tourism spot, vegetable basket of Ormoc and it is also considered as the vegetable bowl of Eastern Visayas as it is the major supplier of vegetables in the region. The main livelihood of people is farming while others are engaged in small scale business such as poultry and livestock raising. The locals said that Cabintan is derived from the word "Binit" or Kabinitan, Binit is a term for a local variety of raspberry plant that grows abundantly in the area. Cabintan is blessed with scenic views and tourism spots such as the crater lake of a dormant volcano- Lake Janagdan, Heaven's Peak, Tres Aguas Waterfalls, Mag-aso Waterfalls, Sulfatara, and a lot more. It is also the jump-off of the famous Tower of the East, The Alto Peak, which is the highest peak in Eastern Visayas. Ormoc City has a lot to offer.
