SWFL Eagles ~ Lessons In De-furring & Unzipping Squirrel For Both E's! Tug-O-Pelt w/ Harriet 5.24.20

 

M flies in with a whole squirrel and E15 does an awesome mantle and keeps a talon on the squirrel. M starts in with lesson 101 on de-furring as both E's watch and learn. Dad departs and lets E15 take over and try to unzip but E15 realizes it is a lot harder than it looks! After working on it for some time, E16 gets the squirrel and then has his chance at de-furring, tearing and taking some bites! E16 actually makes great progress on the squirrel! When E16 gets tired, Dad drops down to the nest and Harriet follows and takes over the feeding at 16:17. She feeds both E's and then drags the squirrel across the nest and they follow. Both get some good pieces of squirrel and at the end E16 has squirrel tail sticking out of his beak and E15 grabs the pelt and has a tug-o-pelt with Mom at 27:53! Mom wins and swallows it! This was a great lesson for the E's in mantling, de-furring, un-zipping, self- feeding and making steals - all necessary skills for survival! Thank you for watching!
