Occurred on September 9, 2016 / Katmai National Park and Preserve, Alaska, USA "I was walking along a trail with several people in Katmai National Park in Alaska. We suddenly came upon a mama brown bear with two young cubs - usually, a mama bear with cubs is one of the most dangerous animals on the planet. We only had seconds to step off the trail when mama bear and cubs walked within THREE FEET of us - so close that I took this video on my iPhone. In Katmai National Park, bears that are seen frequently are known to Rangers and this bear had been nicknamed, Beadnose. When she walked by us, I talked to her as if I was talking to children.
