Llamatron - Atari ST (1991)

 

"Llamatron" is a shoot'em up developed by Llamasoft (Jeff Minter) and released as a shareware in 1991 on the Atari ST. 00:00 Instructions 01:05 Title screen 02:47 1 player 07:04 1 player + Droid 11:42 Game Over It's a clone of the original Robotron (a 1982 arcade game from Williams Electronics). Llamatron uses the same principle but ups the action level, graphics and sound. The aim is simply to control you character (in this case a llama), shoot all the various monsters and rescue all the innocents (sheep). Your weapon is always on automatic fire and you shoot in the direction you are facing but if you hold the fire button it locks the gun in that direction allowing you to move around. Various power-ups are presented to you during the game and two-player support is also in there.
