Over 300 families displaced by floods in Nyando in Kisumu

 

With the rains pounding various places across the country, evacuation camps for flood victims are emerging as possible infection spots for the new coronavirus, owing to difficulty in enforcing safety regulations. Thousands of victims across the country displaced from their homes by the heavy rains are now caught between the dilemma of the immediate need of a roof over their heads over social distancing. Laura Otieno visited one of the evacuation camps in Nyando, Kisumu County and filed the following report.
