The RCMP say they have confirmed that the shooter behind a weekend rampage in Nova Scotia that left 22 victims dead acted alone. Chief Supt. Chris Leather told a briefing today that investigators are still trying to determine whether anyone assisted the gunman leading up to the incident. RCMP also addressed why a provinicial emergency alert wasn't sent during the active shooter situation. Leather said they were in the process of preparing an emergency alert when the suspect was shot and killed. Leather addressed when the RCMP first learned of the suspect having a mock police cruiser and uniform saying it was the morning of April 19 when they learned that information "in totality." Leather told reporters that he's aware Nova Scotia residents have "a lot of questions" about how the force responded to this past weekend's violence in the province. Leather asked residents to remember that officers were facing the "unimaginable" in what would become Canada's worst-ever mass shooting incident.
