MSU Denver uses 3-D Printing lab to make PPE for healthcare workers during Coronavirus

Ted Shin, the Chair of the Department of Industrial Design at Metro State University of Denver, could see Coronavirus coming, first in China then in Italy. He saw the strain on healthcare workers and decided to act. Healthcare workers were running out of personal protective equipment and he knew the university could help. After discussions with the dean, they re-opened the university’s 3-D printing lab, even while the school was closed. A few phone calls later they joined a group from make4covid.co to start printing PPE face shields.
