The Tiyanki Matriarch is one of the so called Leviathan Guardians you can encounter during your exploration of the Galaxy.
Defeating this opponent will reward an unique ship, the AH4B and a Leader, Captain Reth Unddol.
The Captain comes with the Cautious Trait (+20% Weapon Range) and Hell’s Heart Trait (+10% Fire Rate, +10% Weapon Damage, +10% Sublight Speed, -5% Evasion, -33% Combat Disengagement Chance).
You have three options: recruit him and his ship, scrap the ship for resources or take only the ship.
Fanatical Purifiers, Devouring Swarms and Determined Exterminator Empires will kill the Captain for 120-350 Unity.
The ship lacks any jump drive technology but if you manage to acquire it early in the game it may be a useful asset, provided you do have the means to take on a Leviathan early in the game.
The Matriarch spawns in a random system which always contain a Gaia World and you claim it as additional reward for your victory.
The Tiyanki Matriarch is available only with Distant Stars DLC enabled.
