South Devon Railway - Spring Steam Gala - 14/03/2020

 

14th - 15th March 2020 saw the South Devon Railway host their Annual Spring Steam Gala. The event saw freshly overhauled GWR 4500 Class 'Small Prairie' No. 4555 (Visiting from the Dartmouth Steam Railway) reunite with Ex GWR 6400 Class 'Pannier' 0-6-0PT No. 6412 and GWR 1366 Class 'Pannier 0-6-0PT, No.1369 for the first time in 47 years! The three locomotives formed the original fleet on the Dart Valley Railway, recreating scenes from the early preservation movement, with GWR 4575 Class 'Prairie', No. 5542 also joining the line-up. Film from various locations and Station along the line between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, we see all four locomotives in action, with an intensive timetable of goods, local passenger and auto services.
