I review this second memoir by the author of Lakota Woman, Mary Brave Bird. This memoir focuses on her life after the publication of Lakota Woman, including her role as religious leader during her marriage to Leonard Crow Dog, her divorce, her struggles with alcoholism, her remarriage, and her role as a mother.
