Lapsang Souchong – The First Black Tea. 'The Story of a Leaf'

This short video tells the story of Lapsang Souchong – the forefather of all the black teas. Today, making Lapsang Souchong requires at least twenty procedures, such as withering, roasting, rolling, and other traditional crafting techniques. All of this is done in a traditional building with several floors. On the first floor, there is a large fireplace where the pinewood is burning, and the smoke that is rising up is used for roasting the tea. Smoke from the pinewood gets absorbed by the tea leaves and the final product results in having a scent of smoky pine. • You can find our selection of Lapsang Souchong here: https://pathofcha.com/collections/all-teas/lapsang-souchong • Our collection of Black (Red) Teas: https://pathofcha.com/collections/black-teas • And all of our Teas and Teaware: https://pathofcha.com
