Montezuma Castle National Monument protects a set of cliff dwellings. It is located around 50 miles south of Flagstaff. We also see Montezuma Well which is a site part of Montezuma Castle National Monument. The dwellings were built over a period of three centuries, between approximately 1100 and 1425 CE by the Sinagua people. The main structure, the so-called "Castle A", has five stories, at least 45 rooms, and sits 90 feet above the ground in the limestone cliffs. #️⃣ Montezuma Castle National Monument was unit #21 out of #419 on our journey to visit them all.
