Malaysian Queen passionate about reviving, preserving traditional way of Pahang weaving

The Queen of Malaysia has big plans for the development of the country’s arts and crafts. Queen Azizah Aminah Maimunah was recently named the 2019 Craft Icon of the Year by the World Craft Council. CNA’s Melissa Goh caught up with the Queen in Pahang to learn about her passion in reviving and preserving the traditional way of weaving known as "tenun" -- the Malay word for weave. Tenun Pahang is known for its simple yet elegant patterns and its colour harmony. The process is time-consuming, complicated and requires a lot of patience.
