Growing and Shrinking People

 

From Puzzling World in New Zealand. This video shows an illusion you might be familiar with. We are looking into a room which appears to be a normal rectangular room with a door on the left and a door on the right. People enter each door, the one on the left appearing to be a giant while the one on the right appears to be a midget. But then these people reverse positions by simply walking across the room and as they do, they grow or shrink in what appears to be an “Alice-in-Wonderland” type moment. In reality, the left side of the room has a low ceiling and is near us, while the right side of the room is much farther away with a very high ceiling. But the perspective makes them look like they are the same distance from us. It’s quite convincing.
