I've been looking at the 1970 Gaumont "Daisy of Doom" logo for a while, do I decided to make this. To create the daisy and the "aumont" part of the text, I used Firefox's screenshot tool to take a picture of the daisy and the text on YouTube. Then I went to Paint.NET, pasted the screenshots, added another layer, set sampling to "Image" and then used the paint bucket tool on the daisy and the text. In Blender, I got two square planes (one for the full daisy and another for the cut-out daisy) and a rectangular plane for "aumont". Using UV maps and some alpha settings, I was able to get the daisy and the text. I kept the two daisy planes in place to give the effect of the full daisy being cut out when "aumont" appears. For the background, I got a video of red smoke, went into Windows Movie Maker, shortened it a bit, duplicated it, made the first clip cyan via "Visual Effects", brightened it and used a crossfade effect to join the two clips together. This is the video that I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIFFMmPkSnM Then, I composited it into the animation with some node editing. As for the globe and the rays, the globe was a sphere modified by applying subsurf and smooth shading, and UV mapped with an Earth texture. For the rays, I was gonna go with separate triangles, but then I figured a circle modified in edit mode to resemble sun rays was less time-consuming. Shape keys were used to animate the rays. And the "Distribution" text? All I did was just add text and type it in. Download the file here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XigDuCgeAVnjYhRgclRRZ_hTToAqCxNs Logo © Gaumont
