LA Tech CB Amik Robertson
Junior 5’9 183 lbs
LA Tech CB Amik Robertson is one of the most dynamic defensive players & playmakers in the country. He may be undersized, but his play is much bigger. He doesn’t let his size prevent him from defending taller receivers & it especially doesn’t prevent him playing physical. Does this sound familiar? Many people compare Robertson to former LSU legend Tyrann Mathieu, also known as the “Honey Badger.” The two are similar in size & play very similarly as they both are ball hawks & are willing to come up and make a big tackle. The two were also born & raised in Louisiana.
Even though Robertson is listed at 5’8 183 lbs, he still lays some of the hardest hits. The best part of his hard hits is that they’re all clean. His size is also why QBs continue to test him, but they learn quickly that it was a bad mistake because Robertson has 14 career interceptions along with 34 pass break ups. This year’s draft class features some really good defensive backs like Ohio State’s Jeffrey Okudah, LSU’s Grant Delpit and Kristia Fulton as well as Alabama’s Trevon Diggs. Robertson may not be named among those players yet, but he’s a player more people will recognize as we get closer to the draft.
