Clean Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car

A dirty or broken Mass Air Flow Sensor can cause all kinds of engine trouble. And yet strangely many on-board computers won't tell you that the MAF sensor is the problem (not just Ford - I've had this happen with Toyotas from the same era) - the codes will say to replace various other things. It's always best to start by making sure that your MAF sensor is clean and functioning. This video (which is overly long, sorry) shows how to clean the MAF sensor on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car, but it's similar to other Ford-Lincoln-Mercury cars and trucks from that era. It's super easy with either a safety torx wrench, or a 10mm socket wrench and a flat head screw (and the MAF cleaner, of course).
