In 1984, New Orleans briefly experimented with an innovative transportation system known as the Railbus. Designed as a futuristic transit option, it operated in the city for only a few weeks before being taken on a nationwide tour. Though the project never gained traction, a piece of the original Railbus still exists today. In an effort to uncover this forgotten piece of New Orleans' transit history, a visit to its remnants offers a glimpse into a short-lived but fascinating experiment.
