You wouldn’t think that a bucket would be so handy, but being able to place water wherever you want gives you the freedom to farm where you please. A large wheat farm will ensure that the Avatar never goes hungry, finally securing his long term survival in this unfamiliar world. With luck, we’ll find more things to grow but that’s thinking far into the future.
With our food supply secured, it’s time to seek out the next important ore, gold. We won’t need it for weaponry or armour, though you can make those out of gold. I really wouldn’t recommend it however on account of gold being an awful material for such things, far too heavy and soft to be of any real use. Gold is used primarily for redstone contraptions – a facet of the game I haven’t delved into much – as well as a device I’ll be using a lot to ensure I keep myself safe when finishing my mining excursions. This of course presumes I’ll find some gold which means going ever deeper underground, further into peril.
