We're back with another Illustrator Reacts to Good and Bad Comic art! Admittedly, there isn't really much quote-unquote "Bad Art" in this episode, I although along with some great Spawn art by J Scott Campbell, I do talk about his work in relation to the common art problem called 'Same Face.' It's a thing that a lot of artists do where they draw the same face over and over for every different character, which can be jarring from a storytelling stand point in comics.
Anyway, besides that I was blown away by a lot of the art in this. I talk about how Todd McFarlane was a huge reason behind how spiderman is portrayed in comics today. I also go over some manga art from Takehiko Inoue's work on Vagabond, in which he renders some absolutely mind blowing landscape art.
And, of course, I go over the godly art of Kim Jung Gi and his crazy process of never doing any construction lines or rough art to make his masterpieces.
And I go over some recommended artists, who are also personal favourites of mine such as Sean Murphy, Matt Hollingsworth, Joe Madureira and Stjepan Sejic, who's name I think I actually managed to pronounce properly!
