We took our nearly 3 year old on her first international trip to Japan. On this day we rode the bullet train (Shinkansen) from Tokyo to Kyoto and enjoyed the Japanese custom of eating special lunch boxes (ekiben) while on the train. We enjoying walking and eating our way through Nishiki Market. Next, our family has a peaceful stroll along Philosopher's Walk (Tetsugaku-no-michi) which leads us to Ginkaku-ji (the silver pavilion). This is apart of an epic 14 day trip through Japan, with an ecstatic toddler in tow.
