Goravara Kunitha ಗೊರವರ ಕುಣಿತ

 

Goravara Kunitha is a traditional dance of Kuruba Gowdas of Karnataka. Kuruba Gowdas are devotees of lord Mailara Linga, men belonging to this community take Deekshe or the process of initiation to follow the tradition of Gorava. They dedicate their rest of lives for lord Mailara Linga and the folk form Goravara Kunitha. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಲೆಗಳ ತವರೂರು ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂಲ ಕಾರಣ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲೆಗಳಾದ ಹಾಡು, ನೃತ್ಯ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆಗಳು. ಜಾನಪದ ನೃತ್ಯಗಳಾದ ವೀರಗಾಸೆ, ಡೊಳ್ಳುಕುಣಿತ, ಕೋಲಾಟ, ಕಂಸಾಳೆ, ಗೊರವರ ಕುಣಿತಗಳು ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿ. ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕೆಲವು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಉತ್ಸವಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಂಡುಬರುವಂತಹ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇಂದು ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒದಗಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಅಂತಹವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊರವರ ಕುಣಿತವೂ ಒಂದು.
