*WARNING: This documentary contains several recreated scenes that may be upsetting to viewers.* Exactly five years ago on this day, 19 August 2014, a YouTube video was uploaded appearing to show James Foley, a US Journalist, being held hostage by Mohammed Emwazi. He would later be affectionately nicknamed by the press as "Jihadi John" due to his British accent although he would not be formally identified until the following year in 2015. HIs reign of terror consisting of beheading innocent victims would continue over the next five months, involving the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan. He was ultimately killed in a drone strike on 12 November 2015. This documentary explores the life of Emwazi before he joined ISIS, his behaviour and attitude while in ISIS as testified by several victims who survived and interviews from now-retired officers who were responsible for his death and the immediate aftermath.
