The 1970s and 1980s punk music in Slovenia was amazing. It was not only very unique in the Communist East, but also very unique in the whole world! 'Children of Socialism', 'Ljubljana Dogs', 'Bastards', 'Berlin Wall', 'Ciao Bitches!', 'Via Ofensive', 'The Tattletales' and 'Niet', these are just a few names of the bands that were turning an alternative scene into an oppositional movement. At the time, Esad Babačić was just a next-door kid. But soon everything would change in young Esad's life. He would drop out of school, start working at an assembly line -- and form a punk band. Via Ofenziva! Esad joined a legion of punk youth that would transform the way Slovenian socialist public perceived youth culture and alternative culture forever. Today Esad is a renowned poet and writer with 15 books under his belt and translations in all major languages.
