Snook Fishing from the Beach in Sarasota Florida, Gulf Coast

We noticed several large bait balls so we decided to try to fish at a Sarasota Beach for the first time since the red tide. We were very excited to see the beautiful clear water, fish running, and birds working the bait balls. Kyle caught a bunch of Ladyfish and a baby Jack. Watch for Laura to haul in a monster Snook! In the video, we measured the Snook at 26", but upon closer inspection, we realized it was closer to 28." Snook are in-season on the gulf coast, and this is considered a "Slot Snook." But, the FWC has placed Snook and Redfish to catch-and-release only in red tide affected areas: http://myfwc.com/news/news-releases/2018/august/30/snook/ Unfortunately, the current carried the red tide back in a couple days after this video was filmed.
