It is the largest known star in the Universe. These star is present in the constellation Scutum. It is visible to the naked eye during night sky. UY Scuti is 1708 times larger than Sun. It has a diameter of 2.4 billion km. It is larger than the distance of earth from sun. If Sun is replaced by UY Scuti, it takes the distance of orbits between Jupiter and Saturn. It is 5,219 light years away from Earth. In few billion years, it will explodes as a supernova due to running out of fuel. A bright dot only appears from earth during the explosion.
