Nahela Morales was born in Mexico City and came to the United States at the age of 4. Raised Catholic by her devout grandparents, she had very little spiritual introduction to anything else. That is, until 9/11 happened — while Morales was in her 20s in New York City. She said the tragedy is what forced her to open the Quran for the first time.
