Hello everybody!
Today I'm sharing this video to help anyone who may have problems with blisters from their swimming fins! You can get blisters on your toes, on your heels, and basically anywhere on your foot. This can include diving fins, monofins, and mermaid fins. There are a few steps you can take in order to minimize or eliminate blisters on your feet!
The first step is to do a short swim/test of your fins first. Just like new shoes that need breaking in, you're going to feel for hot spots and address them AS SOON AS YOU FEEL THEM!
Don't let them fester and get worse, because then you'll just have to protect it from getting worse. It's easier to stop it SOONER.
Some options you can try to help against blister formation are swim socks, normal ankle socks, and neoprene socks. This is great if your fins are too big, since they will add a layer of padding to protect your foot and toes.
If your fins are too tight, or you don't have too many problems, you can actually use duct tape! You'll wrap your toes, feet, and ankles by using the taping technique. Band-aids won't stay on, especially in the water. I also show you a way to protect blisters that are already open with the duct tape!
I hope that this helps you, since it is so important to take care of your body; mermaiding or otherwise!
Thanks for watching!
