This video Filly and Emily's Public Access Test, necessary for Filly to be placed with Emily and her family. The test is from the MD Dogs Training resources. Filly is a Diabetic Alert Dog and Emily's daughter is a 3 year old with type 1 diabetes. Because Filly was being placed to alert to Maggie, the Public Access Test was performed with Maggie and the stroller in order to mimic real public access trips. However, this made the test significantly more difficult! But they passed the test and Filly was placed with their family permanently. One year from the test they will have a retest of this same test in order to demonstrate the training has been maintained and they still remain professional and safe for the public.
