Parker Sonnet + Lamy Petrol

Find my whole review of this pen on Fountain Pen Network - http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/341492-parker-sonnet-a-gamble-that-paid-off-with-video/ I recently found a Parker Sonnet for less than half of MSRP and jumped on it. After verifying it wasn't a fake, I tested it out and wow. This thing writes. So well. It's smooth and consistent and feels so premium in the hand. It's smooth enough that the microphone could barely pick up the audio. the 18k nib is yielding but not overly soft and flexes less than many steel nibs. It's just velvety smooth. This nib is a medium. I think I'd prefer a Fine, but the medium was $50 less. I don't think these pens are worth the nearly $300 MSRP, but if you can find one for around $150 or $120, jump on them. I also recently got a bottle of Lamy Petrol from a friend (hence the smiley face on the box, so it can't be resold) and I'm fairly lukewarm on it. It's a dark green turquoise, quite similar to Rohrer & klinger verdigris. Definitely not worth paying $50 for a bottle on eBay.
