THE POWERBUILDING PROGRAM IS BEING DISCONTINUED. GET IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN: https://phdeadlift.com/p/12-week-powerbuilding-program At a high level, the difference between the two exercises involves the movement of the hips. The RDL works them more; the SLDL works the lower back more and puts the hamstrings under greater stretch. I find the most helpful way to perform an RDL is to focus on pushing the hips back while keeping a strong braced position and keeping the bar path perfectly straight and tracking over the midfoot. The partial SLDL can be a great assistance exercise for working lockout. I find it far more beneficial than traditional block pulls. https://phdeadlift.com/p/uyp
