This is the Division 4 Girls race from the 2017 CIF Southern Section Cross Country Finals, held on November 18, 2017 at the Riverside City Cross Country Course (3 Miles).
Commentary: Our last 2017 XC season look at two-time national champion Claudia Lane. This Finals performance, following her course record run the previous week, is just a pacer setting her up for State and Nationals the following two weeks. The big story is the Mayfield frosh, Audrey Suarez, running very strong and PRs for 3 miles. Then places 3rd at State the following week. The best contest is for third, coming down to the final 50. On the teams side, Foothill Tech easily takes the Southern Section title and the State Championship the following week. Southern Section goes 1-3-4-6-7 at State.
