Daughter of Kalamazoo bicycle crash victim gives powerful impact statement

 

Madeline Bradley gives a victim impact statement before Charles Pickett Jr. of Battle Creek was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years by County Circuit Judge Paul Bridenstine on Monday, June 11, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Madeline's mother, Debra Bradley, was one of the five killed. He was convicted by a jury of five counts of second-degree murder and five counts of operating while under the influence causing death for the deaths of Debra Ann Bradley, Melissa Ann Fevig Hughes, Fred Anton "Tony" Nelson, Lorenz John "Larry" Paulik, Suzanne Joan Sippel. He was also convicted of four counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury to bicyclists Jennifer Johnson, Sheila Jeske, Paul Runnels and Paul Gobble in the June 7, 2016, crash on North Westnedge Avenue in Cooper Township.
