Since being diagnosed at age 3 with mitochondrial disease, Alex has spent hundreds of days at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. His condition affects all his organs, except his kidneys. He receives 38 doses of medication on a daily basis. But Alex doesn’t let this slow him down. He loves playing video games, golf, doing karate, volunteering with church and is also a Boy Scout. Now at age 14, Alex is a patient ambassador for Cook Children’s and speaks about his amazing journey throughout the community. www.CookChildrens.org
