WMAK/Nashville is the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame Legendary Station for 2018. It battled for years with Nashville's other major Top 40 station of the 1960s, WKDA. But in 1968, under Program Director Joe Sullivan's guidance, WMAK became a strong Number One with a very talented team of on-air personalities. Joe Sullivan is also being inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame this year. In honor of that, I've put together a sampling of WMAK jingles from various companies... Cummings Productions, CRC, PAMS, TM and Joseph. P. Cuff & Co.
I've tried to indicate when the various cuts might have been heard on the air, but in some cases it's only a guess (up until 1968 is a bit fuzzy).
All jingles were officially purchased by WMAK. Except the very last one you hear. It is PAMS Series 28 "Chaser" instrumental, and was "borrowed" from 77/WABC. No one has complained. So far.

The WMAK studios were on the fifth floor of the Exchange Building at 311 Church Street. If you’d like to see what the studios looked like, check out the home movie I made 4 years later with Coyote McCloud and Lee Hall:
