KHALA FILIM PICTURES Presents The 16 Bar Marathon A Web/TV series that profiles hip-hop artists monthly, while giving them a challenge to drop a 16 bar verse on a specific concept. 16 Bar Marathon will profile 3 hip-hop artists per episode. The artists are given a pool of beats, from which they will each choose one to write their 16 bar verse. They are given a week to complete the writing on the concept of that particular month. Concept: The theme of each show is going to be based on the public holiday falling in the month the episode is shot. In a case where there are no public holidays or the artist has difficulty with the topic he/she will write about anything of note that has transpired in the news/social media in the same month. Our 1st Episode was shot in March so the topic is Human Rights (21 March), and it features Pho’netiQ, Silver Gee and Black Psalmist. Other Aims Of The Show: A) To re-connect hip-hop with one of its primary aims, which were to address social, ills/injustices or conveying a positive message thus portraying hip-hop in a positive light. This will also help in showing hip-hop and its ability to link with social issues and current issues. 😎 To further stamp our place, as a company, in the audio-visual space, by showcasing our abilities. (We produce the instrumentals used by the artists, record them, shoot the whole process, mix and master 16’s and shoot the music videos to the same 16’s. #the16barmarathon #khalafilimpictures #nakedeye #vinceblack #digitdeepproductions #dashak1507 for more info : [email protected]
