SL62ZSX - Physically pushes cyclist out of the lane

SL62ZSX SL62 ZSX 29th September 2017, 12:40, Wolseley Place, Edinburgh This idiot decided that because I wasn't cycling in the cycle lane, that he'd drive into me and push me into it. The side of his vehicle made contact with my right handlebar, and the only reason I stayed on my bike was that I was travelling at the same speed at the time. Whether he knew he'd hit me or not is debatable, but he certainly knew I was there - especially after I banged on the side of his car. As for why I wasn't in the cycle lane - it's a filter lane for the ASL, not a cycle lane, and there's two vans parked in it at the start, and there's often vans parked in it further along at the lights. It's a red light, so neither of us is going to go anywhere, and there's only a couple of cars at the lights - no reason for me to filter past to the ASL. When the lights change, I'm going straight on - I don't want to get trapped in the left of the lane. This was reported to the police (Hence the long delay until the upload), but they were unable to do anything apart from have words with the driver, because this "isn't driving that falls below the standard expected". Wonderful.
