I knew I wanted to refurbish this edit with the HD clips as soon as possible haha. I'm iffy about it in HD, probably because I've seen it many times when I was editing it in the crappy footage so im not used to it.
old desc. - I wanted to convey why I want them together in this edit. This is it. This is seriously it. This is why I ship them.
It's about how the force is subtly leading them to each other. When they oppose each other they are pulled apart. Like in the TFA, the ground split between them. In TLJ, the lightsaber split and they were thrown back. He's her equal, and she is his.
And I know some people believe that this is the end for them. He tells Luke that he'll destroy Rey, and she shuts the door on him.
The way I see it, it isn't. In fact, it's just the beginning.
I expected Ben to get up and have another one of his typical temper tantrums. Instead he stays there crouched, and he's almost shrinking into himself. And that wasn't like Kylo Ren at all. It was like Ben.
He practically screwed up the only real connection he's ever had, and that was his bond with Rey. Now that Rey is gone, he's all alone. I think that that moment is when he realizes it and feels immense regret.
They definitely need to come together in episode 9 the right way in order to bring balance and an end to the opposing sides.
