Mica's life changes when her father, Ramil, decides to pursue his dream of becoming a deacon. While initially supportive, Mica and her family eventually learn that Ramil had an affair with another woman during his time away. This causes both Mica and her sister, Maimai, to distance themselves from him. Their family receives another blow when Ramil suffers a stroke. Regardless of his affliction, Mica finds herself unable to forgive her father. As time passes, Mica comes to realize that her family has forgiven Ramil and that she alone continues to harbor resentment in her heart.
