The Inter college Youth Festival of Ranchi University, 'Tarang' 2017 kicked off at Nirmala College on December 14, 2017. The 3-day event will continue till December 17.
The theme this year for the fest is "Environment and Human Concerns".
The program schedule for the first day included Classical Dance, Classical Instrument (Solo), Light Vocal Indian, Classical Vocal Solo, Folk/Tribal Dance, Folk Orchestra, Western Vocal Solo, Rangoli, Cartooning, on the spot Painting and Spot Photography.
A total of four hundred participants from 15 colleges have taken part in the Youth Fest.
The chief guest for the event was Vice Chancellor R.K.Pandey. The day started off with the melodious rendition of the Ranchi University Anthem, "Jai Jai Ranchi Gurukul Jai" by the students of Ranchi Women's College.
In his adress to the gathering on the occasion, Prof R.K.Pandey congratulated Nirmala College once more on being granted "A" grade by NAAC and CPE by UGC. "I feel gratified that because of the excellent level achieved by Ranchi University during East Zone level Youth Festival last year, the University has been endowed with the honour of hosting of the 33rd National Level Youth Festival in February 2018," he said. Pandey also told the students that fear is in the mind, and that they should take all problematic situations as challenges. They will achieve success only when they tackle situations with confidence.
Sr. Lidwin Mary,(Superior) Vice Principal Sr Shobha, Principals and teachers of various colleges, Cultural Coordinators Dr. Ajay Malkani and Dr. Kamal Bose along with participants and students of the college were present on the occasion.
