Microfiber came to my mind as a replacement for Synthic, a plant oriented product that simply did not perform as I wanted it too. Microfiber has major benefits over Synthic, mainly that it always absorbs water, no matter how much it was used.

In a pot there are some major cons: microfiber can accumulate too much algae which will lead to acidic buildups. Removing this textile from roots is impossible almost, so you need t cut them away.
In a Vanda setup it would appear that algae are much easier to control, due to the airy nature of this setup. I will keep the setup as it is the best I ever had, but will probably not use microfiber in pots.
