Located in the Pune state of Maharashtra, this fort is quite famous in the tourism.
Sinhagarh means lions fort,
Due to some evidence, it is believed that the fort is two thousand years old.
The carvings and caves in the Kondinyeshwar temple located in the fort are believed to be two thousand years old.
This fort is located on the Sahyadri mountain ranges, at a height of 1312 meters above sea level; this fort gives evidence of many major battles.
Because of the steep slopes, this fort has natural protection.
There are 2 doors to enter this fort, one Kalyan Darwaja and second one is Pune door.
In the 13th century, Muhammad bin Tughluq had acquired this fort from the Koli community.
In 1647, when Shivaji attained this fort by own brilliance, this fort was under the supervision of Siddi Amber.
But Adil Shah made Shivaji's father Shahaji the prisoner and demanded the fort, then Shivaji gave this summit to Adil Shah.
But in 1656, with the help of Bapuji Mudgal Deshpande, Shivaji re-captured this fort.
Shahistakhan tried to capture this fort many times but did not succeed.
Shivaji had achieved this fort a total of two times, but both times the fort got out from his hands.
But Tanaji Malusure, who was the commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
He achieved this fort with great bravery but he died in this war.
