FIRST PUBLISHED 6 July 2016 Despite the effectiveness of NECT, it is a heavy treatment that requires hospitalization for at least seven days. DNDi has been working on an oral treatment called fexinidazole. Research for an even simpler treatment with the oxaborole family is also on-going.
