Mia Khalifa is a #Lebanese American best known for her brief and successful career as a pornographic actress and adult model in the mid-2014s.
Mia Khalifa (Arabic: ميا خليفة; born February 10, 1993), also known as #MiaCallista, is a Lebanese American best known for her brief and successful career as a pornographic actress and adult model in the mid-2014s. Born in Beirut to a Lebanese family and resident in the United States since 2000, Mia began acting in #pornography in October 2014, and by December was ranked the number 1 performer on the website #PornHub. Her career choice was met with controversy in the Middle East, especially for a video in which she performed sexual acts while wearing the Islamic hijab. She was the subject of an eponymous song by the band Time flies and an advertisement by the Lebanese brewery Almaza. She was nevertheless disillusioned with the #pornographic industry and left it after three months.
Mia entered the pornographic film industry in October 2014. She had been working at a #Whataburger when she was approached by a customer who asked if she had ever considered appearing in pornographic films. With more than 1.5 million views, the 24-year-old Mia became the most searched-for star on adult movie site Pornhub. On December 28 that year, Pornhub revealed that she was the #1 ranked #pornstar on their website.
Mia’s newfound notoriety quickly drew strong criticism from many in the #MiddleEast, who branded her career choice as shameful and #Mia herself a disgrace to her country, especially for one of her videos filmed by #BangBros, in which she is seen wearing a hijab. She received online death threats, including a manipulated image of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant executioner preparing to behead her, and a message warning her that she would go to Hell, to which she replied "I've been meaning to get a little tan recently". Lebanese newspapers wrote articles critical of Mia, which she considered trivial due to other events in the region.
