Mitsubishi Xpander 2018 Review Interior and Exterior - Mitsubishi Motors have confirmed that the all-new seven-seater Xpander that has just made its global debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) last week will be exported to neighbouring countries in the ASEAN region starting February 2018, reports Reuters. The report by the London-based news agency quoted Mitsubishi Motors CEO Osamu Masuko as saying, "We will export this car across ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries starting next February.” It also added that exports will begin first for Philippines, followed by Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Mitsubishi Xpander 2018 Review Interior and Exterior Despite everything, numerous reports from Japan and Indonesia refer to the crossover MPV as the Expander. From a visual standpoint, Mitsubishi hasn’t made too many modifications to the exterior design of the XM Concept shown during last year’s Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. 4,475 millimeters long, 1,750 millimeters wide and with a ride height of 20.5 centimeters, the tentatively named Expander comes with seating for seven as standard. A replacement for both the Freeca and Zinger, the multi-purpose-vehicle hides a 1.5-liter gasoline-fed four-cylinder engine behind the Dynamic Shield front grille. Exclusively available with front-wheel-drive, the Expander comes with a choice of two transmissions: five speeds of the manual variety or a kei car-inspired four-speed automatic. Mitsubishi Xpander 2018 Review Interior and Exterior Barring small additions due to the bumpers, the dimensions of the two vehicles will not vary. The Xpander measures 4,475 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width and 1,700 mm in height. The wheelbase will not change at all, although that figure of the Mitsubishi offering isn’t officially out yet. The Mitsubishi Xpander is powered by a re-tuned version of the 4G91 1.5-litre MIVEC petrol engine. The four-cylinder unit develops 103 hp at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission choices include 4-speed automatic and 5-speed automatic. If Nissan seeks more differentiation, it could transplant the 2018 Nissan Grand Livina with its own family of petrol engines. Its transmission choices may include CVT too, if not the Mitsubishi gearbox, its XTRONIC technology. Changes in the hardware would mean it would be a year or two before the vehicle is launch-ready.
