Israeli jets attack Syrian target

The Syrian army says Israeli jets have attacked a military base in the west of the country. Some media and a monitoring group claim the site was being used to produce chemical weapons. An official Syrian statement said missiles fired from Lebanese airspace hit the site near Masyaf in the northwest of the country, killing two soldiers. So far Israel has made no comment on the matter but it has been known to have carried out air strikes in the past.
