You want to pack perfectly.
BUT HERE’S THE THING.
we had TWO YEARS to perfectly pack our bags
we watched ALL the packing videos
we read ALL the blogs
and we STILLLLLL changed our minds on things during the trip!
AND THATS OKAY.
We’ve found over the last 5 years or traveling to over 21 countries spanning from 2 weeks to 6 weeks to 6 months, that you can basically pack the same bag for every trip.
There’s not much more you need to bring on a year long trip that you wouldn’t bring on a two week trip (except maybe some specific clothes for dual climates).
The best advice I ever read is to pack your bag and then take away half!
You also don’t need the BEST gear. Start with what you have.
Take the money you would use on the nicest equipment, settle for what you NEED, and spend the money traveling for an extra week instead!
Many of our clothing items were second-hand and our electronics bartered for on Craigslist. We even asked our parents to skip out on our Christmas presents and instead pitch in for a Black Friday flash sale for our GoPro (THANKS FAM!)
Get creative.
Stop worrying.
Bring your favorite t-shirt over the highest reviewed $40 water resistant shirt that you will just lose in Nepal anyway. :)
