Donald Henry "Pee Wee" Gaskins, may be the most notorious criminal in South Carolina history. As one of the biggest news events of the region, Pee Wee courted the media, toyed with the legal system and continued to kill even after conviction. This South Carolina Educational Television documentary chronicles his atrocities from his early childhood to his final days on death row.
As part of the network's "Carolina Stories" series, Pee Wee is an hour long documentary delving into a dark world that most of us hope to never know. It is a murky tale that winds down the long roads of the low country and back into the swamps of time. This story is an excavation of our states past, where innocence is lost, and the horrors of a modern world come home to the old south.
Somewhere between the reality of hardcore police work and the maniacal ramblings of an arrogant and disturbed man, the truth becomes crystallized. However, vexing this saga is his posthumous autobiography that reveals an even darker side to the sinister killer presenting a legend shrouded with mystery.
