Caps & TVS Diodes - FPV Electronics Discussion

 

Did someone say hype? That's right, everyone knows "capping your quad" is a fad in FPV, but do you know WHY you should do it? What problem are you really trying to solve, and what is that cap really doing for you? Let's talk about it! In addition, a previously lightly discussed addition is the TVS diode, commonly called a transorb. It may be that the TVS diode is actually the solution, like some have suggested, but how about both... That's my vote! This is a bit lengthy, but it will give you a basic background on how caps and transorbs pertain to FPV racing drones.
