Mechanic explanation of the first boss in Irontech Forge (Iron Monkey).
Phase 1 Mechanics:
- Announces and jumps to the middle of the room. Summons 3 Powertrons
- Shoots lightning at the farthest person. Needs to be one of the robot killers and the rest of the robot killers are nearby to share lightning
- Lightning bounces up to 3 times and the number of bounces equates to the number of stacks.
- Having 3 robot killers means each person will have 1 stack. 3 stacks (only possible if done alone, transforms the buff into a super buff which does nothing for Phase 1).
- Kill the Powertron mobs
- After the lightning attack the boss does a room wide AOE
- The boss marks the tank with a 5 second bomb. The bomb does little damage, but will kill anyone it damages that has the lightning buff
- It will jump to the furthest person (ideally should be the tank) and then grab the farthest person. It does not matter who it grabs
- CC to stop him from completing the grab. This ends phase 1.
Phase 2 Mechanics:
- Jumps to the middle of the room (does this immediately at the end of Phase 1 in normal or after the first basic attack rotation + Phase 1 in hard mode).
- Shoots lightning at the farthest person (needs to be main marker). This gives the main marker a super buff
- He marks the tank with a 5 second bomb and jumps to the farthest person (needs to be main maker)
- When he jumps to the farthest person and lands, he leaves behind a pole. The jump will repeat x6
- The main and secondary marker will alternate being the furthest as he will do the jump 6 times, leaving 6 poles in the ground
- Poles MUST be kept more than 10 metres apart
- 6th jump should land on the secondary marker (tank).
- The boss will grab whoever is farthest away and this has to be the main maker
- Since the main maker has the 3 stacks of the lightning buff the grab will self damage the boss for 12% of his health. This ends Phase 2
Hard Mode vs Normal Mode
- In HM the phases are timed based. Phase 1 happens during his second attack rotation. Phase 2 starts after one full rotation of his attacks after Phase 1
- Placing poles closer than 10 meters to each other in HM will cause a wipe
- In Phase 2 if the boss grabs someone without the 3 stacks of lightning buff they will instantly die
- In NM mechanics do not happen until 70% and 30%. Phase 1 and 2 go back to back.
